Choose My Plate

Remember the old adage, “you are what you eat”? Let’s take the phrase a step further in the idea that you are currently the summation of decisions made during your lifetime. Whether voluntarily, or involuntarily, your current self is a reflection of those decisions.

Are you satisfied with who you see in the mirror? Are you capable of completing the necessary tasks at home to enjoy your life?

Food is an essential fuel for the body. Not just any food though. We literally ingest the necessary vitamins, minerals, and nutrients needed to sustain life, and to utilize energy. Imagine you’re driving down the expressway and your gas light comes on. Do you ignore the light, and continue driving on fumes? Or, do you seek out an adequate gas station to refill your tank?

Our bodies are like cars, and it needs constant maintenance, check ups, and quality fuel to be efficient. The U.S. Department of Agriculture created a free online resource called MyPlate that teaches practical steps on maintaining proper nutrition habits. Below is a list of resources directly from their site:

  • My Plate App

  • Eating on a budget

  • Recipes & menus

  • Calorie tracker

  • Food Guide

  • Cookbooks

  • And more....

Go to www.choosemyplate.gov to receive these free resources TODAY! Download the App so you can receive first hand the nutritional content.

Tomorrow starts the physical workouts. You will receive an email from me then.

Be Well,

-JJ
