Subject: First Evan Transition Update

{today}

Greetings First Evan!

We are so thankful for your faithfulness and devotion to the Lord, and your enthusiasm coming to worship, while exercising caution during this time of COVID. As we saw great eagerness with the youth and children ministries two Sundays ago, we also heard of the exciting activities from the Women’s Kickoff for the Heart to Heart Bible study and Girls’ Getaway.

And once again we thank Taylor for taking us further into Lamentations with a sermon entitled "Yoked and Waiting." From Lamentations 3:25–33 Taylor emphasized God’s great faithfulness, while looking at three “goods” from the passage, 1) good to wait for God; 2) good to wait quietly; and 3) good to bear the yoke. He also he gave a great definition of biblical lament that “has a resolution and a submission to what God is doing and acknowledges God’s faithfulness and asserts trust in God.” Lastly, we really appreciated Taylor’s “hard work” crafting this great epiphany, “Be fully present in the present so God can present His perfect present.” Thank you, Taylor!

This past Sunday we presented another video looking Where We Are as a church during our period of transition. Our church is active in so many areas of ministry doing the work the Lord has called us to. It was emphasized that as we transition to call and receive our next senior pastor, we will be taking a methodical, best-practices approach to thrive during this time. And thank you to our friend Matt Shackelford, the Senior Pastor at Central Church, for sharing his experience with Interim Pastor Ministries.

Next Sunday we will be hearing about Looking Forward during this transitional season.

You can keep up with all the transition activity, communication, videos, timelines, frequently asked questions from our website by visiting the Transition landing page.

We welcome your questions, support and prayers as we move forward together!

God bless you, and God bless First Evan!
